This extraordinary medium weight organic linen chambray is woven in plain weave (canvas). It has the characteristic, beautiful luster and liveliness of linen. The warp is made of natural linen yarn, whereas the weft is blue black couloured linen yarn (GOTS). The natural linen yarn is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The chambray was produced according to the GOTS in Austria. The flax has been cultivated by organic farming in the coastal areas of France, Belgium and the Netherlands. The chambray is wonderful for durable clothing such as jackets and blazers, trousers, waistcoats, dresses, skirts, blouses and shirts, children’s clothing, etc. Also, it is perfect for home textiles such as bed and table linen, as well as opaque interior curtains, for the manufacture of bags, or as a pocket lining. Due to its high quality, it stays beautiful for an impressively long time. Be aware that pure linen is still running quite a bit in the first wash, usually 3 to 5%. To determine the exact shrinkage, we recommend washing sample parts first. The fabric is best to be dried in the shade. In addition, a mild detergent should be used with no optical brighteners, and the temperature should not be hotter than 40°C. “Linen likes to swim”. Therefore, when washing in the machine, make sure to only load half way, or two-thirds the max. This way, the linen will have enough water to clean thoroughly and not take damage.
