This natural organic linen canvas comes in a plain weave and has the beautiful and lustrous colour of natural linen. The yarn is certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard. The flax was cultivated by organic farming in coastal areas of France, Belgium and the Netherlands (kbA). The canvas is reduced in price because it has a slightly thicker  warp thread every 7 centimetres on two thirds of the fabric width. The undyed linen canvas has been woven in a small weaving mill in Germany and was gently finished according to the GOTS in Austria. The fabric is fine and sturdy at the same time,  so it is easy to work with when processing. It is suitable for many things such as shirts, blouses, skirts, dresses, light trousers and children’s clothing. This organic linen, versatile in use, is also perfectly applicable for home textiles, bread bags, light bags, pocket lining decorative items and much more. Pure linen shrinks about 3-5% in the first washes. To determine the exact shrinkage, we suggest washing samples first. Please also note: Natural linen will fade in the sun. Linen lasts particularly long and stays beautiful equally. To benefit  from these inherent qualities accordingly, please refer to our care instructions. The fabric is best to be dried in the shade if it is to retain its natural color. In addition, a mild detergent should be used with no optical brighteners, and the temperature should not be hotter than 60°C. “Linen likes to swim”: therefore, when washing in the machine, make sure to only load half way, or two-thirds the max. This way, the linen will have enough water to clean thoroughly and not take damage. Iron linen at high temperature, on reverse while still damp. Please notice, that the color of the picture may not necessarily accurately reflect the color of the fabric. swatches . care.
